The December round of matches having been thwarted by the weather, we got back to AGA business with a tie against our neighbours, Lamlash GC over 18 holes at Shiskine GC. This time the weather was kinder with beautiful winter conditions. In a closely fought encounter, Whiting Bay prevailed by 4&3 in one match only to lose the other two, each by a 1 hole margin, and thereby lose the tie 2&1.
Despite a wet start to the morning 8 players from each club played in the first of our winter friendlies as we hosted our friends from Lamlash. In the match, Whiting Bay prevailed running out winners by a 4-0 margin.
Similarly in the informal Stableford home players dominated, taking up the top four places with Jamie Macpherson running out the winner on 37 points.
