Sunday 22nd October – Bogey Competition

18 played in this quirky format where, although classed as strokeplay, players compete against the course on a matchplay basis, the players net score winning or halving or losing each hole. The end of the round sees players up or down to the course as if it were matchplay. On this occasion only two players managed to beat the course with Graham Wilks coming out on top after a countback.

Sunday 1st October – The Hamilton Salver

For such a pleasant morning, a surprisingly small field of 9 took to the course for the Hamilton Salver. On greens made tricky by recent aeration work John Parker-Jones returned a creditable 37 points to win by 1 shot from John Pennycott. Congratulations to him on winning his first trophy at Whiting Bay.

Sunday 24th September – Medal

The combination of dreich weather and a September weekend seeming to fall a week early this year lent a distinctly unreal feel to Sunday morning’s golf. Only 2 participated with Gus MacLeod surging to a second place finish 3 shots behind Ronnie Mann.
