Sunday 11th August – The McKelvie Cup Rd 1

28 players took advantage of a beautiful morning for golf to compete in the first of our club championship qualifiers. David Morrison showed the field a clean pair of heels in returning a gross 70 to win by 5 strokes

Wednesday 7th August – The Betty Black Trophy

20 played, and despite a couple of very risky pin positions, scoring was good with 12 players returning scores in the net 60s. John Mulholland came out top to pip Fraser McKenzie by one shot.

Sunday 4th August – The Lifeboat Open Stableford

A select field of 11 elite golfers competed for the 2024 edition of the Lifeboat Open Stableford and all were happy to be home and dry before the promised deluge materialised. With the blustery wind and the greens still playing hard and fast, David Morrison won with a creditable 37 points.

Wednesday 31st July – The McNicol Cup

A good field of 31 played in this year’s McNicol, one of our oldest and most prestigious trophies. On a beautiful morning scoring was good with the top four players all beating par but on a great run of form just now, John Pennycott put together a spectacular round to post a winning score of 57, enough to give him a 3 shot margin over the second placed score (60) from Robbie McNaught.

Neil Richardson (4) returned the lowest scratch score of 67 and Kerr Drummond returned the only 2 of the day at the 5th hole.

Sunday 28th July – Nestor’s Jug

26 played on what was probably the best day we have had for golf all year – bright sunshine and a gentle breeze throughout. Golfers still had to contend with fast, tricky greens though and any score approaching level par was something to be proud of.
