Sunday 25th April – Captain’s Prize

30 played on a glorious morning for club captain Stan Rainey’s Captain’s Prize day. The shotgun start coupled with the relaxed format of a yellow tees Stableford made for a most enjoyable morning’s golf. The field was mixed with prizes for both gents and ladies.

In the overall competition the placings were

1^st Dave Hackett (13) 40 points acb

2nd Stewart Hammond (32) – 40

3rd Patricia Tait (30) – 39 acb

4th John Simmons (14) – 39

Patricia also scooped first prize in the ladies field where the runners up was Lynda Blair (23) on 38 points just pipping Gillian Lockhart (17) into 3rd place on a countback. Kevin MacAleney scored the only 2 of the day at the 17^th and also won the prize for nearest the pin there.

Many thanks are due to captain Stan Rainey for the arrangements and for his generosity in providing such an array of prizes, especially standing the fact that he was unable to play himself due to injury. Next year Stan; next year.

Sunday 18^th April – Medal

After a week of bright sunny weather a bit of a shock to the system for the 22 who played on a damp and chilly morning. The shock did not appear to affect too many though; scoring was good with the top 5 players all beating par. Top of the heap  with an exceptional net 60 was club captain Stan Rainey.

Jamie Stewart bagged the only 2 of the day at the 2nd hole.

Sunday 4th April – The Boyd Quaich

6 ladies played in the first competition of the season. The weather was reasonably kind and all managed round before the weather changed.
