Sunday 25th April – Captain’s Prize
30 played on a glorious morning for club captain Stan Rainey’s Captain’s Prize day. The shotgun start coupled with the relaxed format of a yellow tees Stableford made for a most enjoyable morning’s golf. The field was mixed with prizes for both gents and ladies.
In the overall competition the placings were
1st Dave Hackett (13) 40 points acb
2nd Stewart Hammond (32) – 40
3rd Patricia Tait (30) – 39 acb
4th John Simmons (14) – 39
Patricia also scooped first prize in the ladies field where the runners up was Lynda Blair (23) on 38 points just pipping Gillian Lockhart (17) into 3rd place on a countback. Kevin MacAleney scored the only 2 of the day at the 17th and also won the prize for nearest the pin there.
Many thanks are due to captain Stan Rainey for the arrangements and for his generosity in providing such an array of prizes, especially standing the fact that he was unable to play himself due to injury. Next year Stan; next year.
