Sunday 17th November – Friendly v Lamlash

Another glorious morning for the first of this season’s Lamlash friendlies saw the visitors take the honours both in the inter club match, by 2-1, and the individual Stableford where Derek Harrison pipped Jamie Macpherson with a better inward half and a score of 33 points.

Sunday 10^th November – Winter Cup Rd 2

8 played on a fine morning and made such a good job of it that the CSS came down to 62. Jamie Macpherson, having netted a creditable 63 in the first round, improved his standing for the cup with a fine 61 to win by 1 stroke from John Pennycott.

Sunday 3^rd November, AGA Winter League – v Shiskine GC at Brodick

Wolfi Kroner and John Pennycott enjoyed a comfortable 5&4 win while Kevin Macaleney and David Blair also won. The remaining pairings of  Stan Rainey & Neil Lucas and Jamie Macpherson & Dougie Auld each battled out halved matches. Congratulations to the WBGC team on a 3-1 victory.

Sunday 20^th October – The Aitken Rosebowl Foursomes

Finally! After umpteen weather postponements we managed to play “The Aitken” and what a morning we got for it – wall to wall sunshine and the course playing beautifully for the 4 pairs that competed.

3rd Jamie Macpherson & Stan Rainey (7.5) – 68.5

Sunday 29^th September – The Cooper Angus Par 3

After a few years off, the Par 3 competition was resurrected for the September weekend. The “Par 3” was always popular and a good number turned up for the occasion to find the course setup with some ingenious variations on the usual layout. Handicaps were adjusted to 5/6ths to reflect the notional reduction in the standard scratch score and the winner was John Pennycott with a fine net score of 2 under par.

Kevin McAleney bagged 2 magic 2s and Scott Adair won 6 nearest the hole prizes
