Friday 13th September – Mixed Foursomes

It’s a while since we’ve managed to hold a mixed event but the decision to play on a Friday morning proved inspired as 6 pairs played in a shortened 15 hole format. All thoroughly enjoyed the occasion and it’s something we hope to continue on an occasional basis throughout the winter months.

Sunday 8^th September – The Hamilton Salver

13 played on a calm dry morning; very welcome after some of the recent weather we have had. Three players tied on 36 points but Corey Allan edged it with a blistering back nine that included four threes.

3rd David Brookens (12) – 36

4th Ronnie Mann (12) – 35

David Hadden scored the only 2 of the day at the 17th.

Wednesday 4^th September – The Bannatyne Cup

Evening play only for this year’s Bannatyne and that after morning rain that looked like it was on for ever. 7 played and CSS went out to 66.

1st Jamie Macpherson (5) – 75 and lowest gross

2nd Corey Allan (7) – 70

3rd David Blair (15) – 70

Sunday 25th August – The Taylor Trophy Greensome

Another sweltering Sunday for this popular greensome following the success of Saturday’s Texas Scramble. A late night in the clubhouse perhaps went some way to explaining a lowish turnout of only13 players.

1^st  Wolfi Kroner & Kevin McAleney (11.6) – 60.4

2^nd Douglas auld & Corey Allan (12) – 61

There was one magic 2 bagged by Graeme Crichton and Neillie Mckechnie at the 17th.

Sunday 18^th August – Stableford Sweep

A blustery morning with heavy showers forecast led to the postponement of the Aitken Rosebowl Foursomes. It will be rescheduled shortly. For the 5 players who turned up we ran a yellow tees Stableford. Despite heavy rain showers all 5 completed the course and Neil “Sonic” Lucas carded a fine 37 points to win his first event at Whiting Bay. Well done Sonic.
