Members will be sorry to hear of the death of Stephen Young on 23rd November. Having holidayed in the village for many years Stephen was a long term member of Whiting Bay who would be seen on the course every morning of his holiday when weather permitted, and often when it didn’t. He was a proficient player and great company on the course, always supportive of the club and its competitions and he continued to maintain an impressively low handicap even during the past year while dogged by illness. He will be much missed about Whiting Bay and our thoughts at this sad time are with Jan and all other members of his loving family.
Sunday 24th November – Stableford
9 played on a calm but grey morning and managed to complete the round just as the weather took a turn for the worse. Scoring was generally good and Gus Macleod carried his recent midweek from into the Sunday game to win with an impressive 41 points.

There were no 2s and as play was on a ‘non counter’ basis there was no CSS applicable.
Sunday 17th November – Friendly v Lamlash
Another glorious morning for the first of this season’s Lamlash friendlies saw the visitors take the honours both in the inter club match, by 2-1, and the individual Stableford where Derek Harrison pipped Jamie Macpherson with a better inward half and a score of 33 points.
