Tam Buchanan

A regular and popular visitor to Whiting Bay since his childhood, and a member of WBGC throughout, Tam Buchanan passed away in hospice care on Friday 21st April. Always ready for a chat and amiable to all Tam will be greatly missed and our thoughts and condolences go to Irene and the family at this sad time. Here’s a picture from just a couple of years ago when Tam celebrated one of his many holes in one, this time at our 17th, with son Craig who emulated the feat just a few days later.

Monday 17th April – The Kiscadale Trophy

Congratulations to our ladies team of Doreen Mainds, Charlie Taylor, Gillian Lockart and Lynda Blair for a stunning victory in the first round of Kiscadale matches. On a beautiful evening for golf the team took on Lamlash ladies over their home course and recorded victories in each tie. Doreen and Charlie won by 3 & 2 against Susan Butchard and Kate McAdam while Gillian and Lynda recorded an emphatic 5 & 4 victory over Gay Mackay and Ruth Hardy. The golf played was to a high standard on both sides and, as usual, in the best of spirits. Well done ladies.
