Instead of the Tam Young Tankard, normally run on winter Wednesdays, next week we will hold a Stableford sweep from the yellow tees using official Scottish Golf handicaps. Usual meet up for 10am in the hope that prevailing conditions and guidance will allow a draw, failing which, please ensure that all pairings comply with any government guidance then in place.
Sunday 19th December – Three Club Challenge
For a bit of pre festive fun we played a yellow tees Stableford with each player restricted to 3 clubs only. If that wasn’t challenge enough, the weather convenor added thick fog so that only on the short par threes were the greens visible from 30 yards out. Much guesswork, a few precautionary shouts of ‘fore’ and happily, no injuries! 14 played and the choice of clubs to use was quite varied with most ensuring they had at least packed a putter. David Morrison, one of the few to use a driver, came out top with an excellent 38 points.

3rd Nicol Auld (5) – 33
Three 2s were returned; David Morrison at the 11th, Nicol Auld at the 13th and Dave Hackett at the 4th.
Sadly, following recent Scottish government announcements, we have reluctantly concluded we will be unable to host our usual Ne’erday get together in the clubhouse. Additionally the Friday night clubhouse quiz is cancelled until further notice.
We are sorry to have to disappoint our many members and friends but feel as a responsible community sports club we have no real option. Hopefully next year we will be able to return to more normalised arrangements
