Part 2 of our “Not Quite the Open “ weekend and we weren’t quite so lucky with the weather although the bright sunshine of the afternoon more than made up for the heavy that welcomed the morning players. Nevertheless a good field of 36 played and CSS stayed at 63/36 Stableford points.

Saturday 25th July – The Ballantyne Cup
Part 1 of our “Not quite the Open” weekend got off to a flying start with fine weather and a good field of 29 players for one of our oldest trophies, The Ballantyne Cup dating from 1909. Scoring was good with the top 6 players beating par and CSS came down to 62. David Blair returned a fine score of 57 that gave him a 4 stroke cushion over second placed Alan Foggo.

Wednesday 22nd July – The McLintock Cup
Unfortunately, for one of our most popular holiday time trophies, a wet morning meant a very much reduced field of 9 competed in the evening. CSS stayed at 63 and despite the conditions, Ryan Armstrong and Nicol Auld produced sparkling golf to each better that by 3 shots with Ryan Prevailing on a better inward half.

Please note an important amendment to the summer fixture list. We are now playing the McKelvie Cup rounds and the Morton Quaich as a championship qualifier (and Summer Trophy counter) in late August as per the following updated fixture list.
In addition the quarter finals, semi finals and final of the club championship will be played on Tuesday 1st September, Thursday 3rd September and Sunday 6th September. An updated September fixture list will be published in due course.
