Sunday 6th September – Club Championship Final
The 2020 season may have been curtailed but what a fine run we have had on big club days and once again we were blessed with fine weather both for players and spectators at the 2020 championship final. Ryan Armstrong, playing in his first final won the 1st hole only to find himself 2 down to Jamie Macpherson after 7 holes. Undaunted he fought his way back into it and a superb birdie at the 12th squared the match. The second round started with Ryan 2 down but once more he fought back to square the match on the 20th green. Further holes changed hands at the 22nd and 26th and the match was all square. After that however Jamie won the next 3 holes and a further win on the 34th green gave him the match by a 4 and 2 margin. Well played to Ryan in his first final. It will surely not be his last and standing his scoring record earlier in the season his day will surely come. But for 2020 it’s congratulations to Jamie Macpherson on winning his 4th WBGC championship.

Saturday 29th August – Fun Texas Scramble
Once again our Texas Scramble was blessed with decent weather and fine turnout. We extended the format to 18 holes this year – it seemed a shame to waste such fine weather. Scoring was tight with a number of teams returning sub 60 scratch scores but the team of Shonagh Pringle, husband Sandy, Jimmy Morrison and Babbies McNeil prevailed by a narrow margin.
Thanks to all who played, to Stewart for the magnificent condition of the course, to John, Jamie and Nancy for the clubhouse food and drink and finally to all the sponsors and donors who gave so generously to ensure such a fine day.
Wednesday 26th August – The Morton Quaich
