The suspension of competitive golf during the Coronavirus pandemic effectively rendered the annual fixture list for 2020 obsolete. It is left accessible on the website for information but members should check the notice board, the website, the club’s Facebook page regularly for updated fixtures. We intend playing as many of the ‘lost’ cups and trophies later in the season if practicable. Meanwhile here is the updated fixture list for July and August. Check regularly though as even this will be subject to alteration as circumstances demand.

Returning Scores
Returning Scores
That’s us been back at competitive golf for a few weeks now and on the whole the interim system of e mailing score in is working well. Can we remind you though to make sure your card or emailed score bears a clear note of the date and/or the competition name you are submitting for.
If you have ‘no returned’ a score for holes completed should still be submitted.
Thanks for helping it work so well thus far. Hopefully we can get back to submitting scores in the old fashioned way before too long.

Sunday 5th July – The Whiting Bay Improvements Stableford
9 played on a day that started out poorly and went downhill with heavy rain starting mid morning. The early starters very definitely had the best of it.
1st Neil Lucas (13) – 39 points
2nd Gus MacLeod (14) – 38
3rd Douglas Auld (20) – 36
4th Nicol Auld (5) – 35

Wednesday 1st July – Summer Trophy
Wednesday 1st July – Summer Trophy
12 played in the second Summer Trophy round of the season. The morning players had the pleasure of damp weather and midges while those brave enough to venture out in the evening had to contend with persistent rain. No surprise perhaps that the ’places’ went to early starters with Douglas Graham scoring a fine net 59 yet winning only on a countback from John Pennycott.
1st Douglas Graham (14) – 59 acb and lowest gross
2nd John Pennycott (14) – 59
3rd David Brookens (12) – 64
4th Wolfi Korner (13) – 66
CSS stayed at 63. Jamie Macpherson bagged 2s at the 4th and 17th. Douglas Auld also scored a 2 at the 17th.
