We’ll be starting our winter sweeps this Wednesday with the first round of this season’s “Tam Young”. The format is as before with winter handicaps applying throughout the season. On Fridays we’ll have the usual “Srixon Ball Sweep”, again using winter handicaps, but no adjustments will be made on Fridays.
Sunday 29th September – The Cooper Angus Par 3
After a few years off, the Par 3 competition was resurrected for the September weekend. The “Par 3” was always popular and a good number turned up for the occasion to find the course setup with some ingenious variations on the usual layout. Handicaps were adjusted to 5/6ths to reflect the notional reduction in the standard scratch score and the winner was John Pennycott with a fine net score of 2 under par.

A poor forecast no doubt put off players today (Sunday 15th September) with only 5 turning up, so we’ll play the Aitken next Sunday instead of the medal we had pencilled in.
